The Shiga Palace provides many facilities. From the main dining hall, Luciole Restaurant, the two large communal hot spring baths, sundries shop, coffee lounge, Executive Lounge, ski storage and rental store and WiFi in guest rooms and public areas, there is something for everyone.
Shiga Palace Hotel is located at 1,700 meter above sea level and just footsteps away from the chairlift of two of Japan’s premier ski resorts and finest mountains, Mt. Yokote (the highest ski resort in Japan) and Kumanoyu, home of the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic and Paralympic games. A short walk from the Hotel’s main entrance you will find the Suzurikawa bus stop. From here you can take a free shuttle to other ski areas.
Guest rooms are available with or without ensuites and feature western beds or futons, comfortably sleeping up to 4. All rooms offer a flat screen TV, a small fridge, towels, complimentary in-room green tea and biscuits, toothbrush & toothpaste. A yukata and hanten set (a lounging robe for use before and after bathing) is provided that you can be worn after a relaxing soak at the hot spring. Larger Japanese style rooms with tatami flooring, futons and shared bathrooms are available and are ideal for large groups on a budget.
Palace Cuisine is the main dining hall seating up to 600 and offers a buffet breakfast and dinner with a wide array of seasonal dishes. Guests can sit back in Executive Lounge on the free massage chairs and watch a movie on the wide screen TV. A large selection to meet all travel needs from daily necessities to souvenirs is available at the sundries store as well as many vending machines. The large hot spring baths are available for guests 24 hours/day with a separate one for women and men. You will feel completely relaxed after soaking in the 100% pure hot spring from Hotaru Onsen.
